With this Microsoft Azure IoT brand video I wanted to create visual drama and rich contrast. After scouting several pools we chose the one with the least distracting background. Since we were lighting an entire indoor swimming pool on a limited budget, we leaned into the hard rim lighting and deep shadows. In several shots you can see practical lights rigged to be seen behind the diver on the diving board. All footage that doesn’t feature the diver is stock footage.

NZXT wanted to parallel its components to the raw materials found in nature: a machine forged from the elements. We filmed macro imagery in a studio with an attention to detail on lighting and movement. The camera was mounted on a Fisher dolly to give us those small, precise movements we needed to add some depth to the visuals.

After scouting a dozen locations, we chose North Bend to capture the rich, natural beauty of the PNW for these Chewy.com social media ads. Both ads were filmed in a single day.

When you’re tasked with creating a grand opening teaser for a hotel that isn’t built yet, you need to get creative. Filming in other hotels didn’t make sense to us, so I opted to use non-descript studio environments that matched the tone of their brand. A modern classic. Refined, approachable luxury for the young professional. The low key lighting allowed us to drop the backgrounds into darkness and focus on the subjects.

From the United States to South Korea and France, I traveled with Shape to capture their facilities in a cinéma vérité style to help customers recognize the broad reach and application of their technologies. Anything that looks like stock footage probably is. Filmed on the Red Weapon with primarily Atlas Orion anamorphic lenses and Sigma Cine Primes.

We got a little tricky by removing the windshield on these spots to get that dash-cam sort of angle. We also rigged lights and diffusion to the car.
